Multiple myeloma (blood cancer) survivor Sharon Clark hosted her 2nd guest bartending event. This one was held at the Clarion Belle Hotel Augusta Grille in New Castle, DE. This fundraiser was held to benefit The . The mission of LLS is to improve the quality of life for people living with Blood Cancers, fund research to find a cure, co-pay assistance and support.
Sharon was diagnosed February 2015, and has undergone chemotherapy treatment up to and including a Stems cell transplant. Although dealing with this traumatic disease she became one of the rock star advocates for LLS. Sharon has single handedly recruited her friends like Leonard Young to make the flyers, advertise the events & bartend and her colleagues. She organized several fundraiser’s to bring awareness and raise money for the cause. She is very passionate about finding a cure and educating people about LLS and her journey. In her journey she has met other survivors such as Mike Herman who attended with his wife Angela and Bill Parker another survivor who was selling raffles tickets for the prizes that Sharon gets donated from a variety of small independent vendors. She has no problem asking for donations.

Sharon has a big heart and people love her and it’s evident by the support she has in the room. Especially from her long time friend for over 25 years Dr. Shane Palmer and guest bartender. Paul Rada, GM Clarion Belle says “This is our first ever guest bartending event, but when Sharon asked, we couldn’t say no. She is a friend to the Clarion and an Ambassador.” Many political candidates were all too happy to help when asked by Sharon. Kevin Kelley, a dear friend to the Clark family is a repeat bartender as well as Matt Meyer who has supported all her events. Matt was at her Bowling for a Cure fundraiser 2 weeks ago and had a great time. That event raised over $500._MG_5169

When Sharon addressed the guests in her welcome and thank you speech she asked those seeking office to stop saying how much they cared but to actually show how much by doing something about the high cancer rate in Delaware. Also that they needed to get involved beyond the election because her cancer doesn’t go away then. The patrons were quite moved by her statement. She also said that her friends that were in the room knew that she would call people out. The response “Yes she will”

The general consensus of the people we spoke to felt like they never heard of LLS before Sharon was diagnosed and wondered why her picture wasn’t on the brochure. They truly believe that this woman is a true inspiration to many and if you follow her on Face book you will see all the things that she does. she makes a difference in the community. Sharon has definitely taken this disease and has truly shown that it may knock her down for a minute but she gets right back up…Just like Rocky.

What’s next for Sharon…. She is very spiritual and Thanks God for everything! She is in remission on a maintenance chemo drug, physical therapy for her constant back pain. Working on Re branding, its coming soon she says…as an Inspirational/Motivational Speaker, a Book Release 12/16. Continued community LLS outreach & education volunteer.
Says she will be a Lifetime Fundraiser until a cure is found.
