The Comcast Network to Broadcast 87ers Games

Wilmington, DE – December 21, 2015 – The Delaware 87ers and The Comcast Network today announced a partnership that will broadcast seven 87ers home games during the 2015–16 NBA development league season.

The television partnership will be the first of any kind for the 87ers, who will have home games at the Bob Carpenter Center broadcast on cable television for the first time in the team’s three-year history.

“We are excited to partner with The Comcast Network, which will bring 87ers basketball into the homes of our fans this season,” said Larry Meli, 87ers Chief Operating Officer. “Basketball fans in the region will be able to see the fun, family atmosphere we’ve created at all Sevens’ home games, and also watch the future of the NBA, as the players hone their skills in the NBA Development League.”

“There is a strong and passionate basketball community in the tri-state area, and this partnership with the 87ers is beneficial in introducing fans to the team and watching the stars of tomorrow develop,” said Bob Selah, Comcast SportsNet Programming Director.

The seven games scheduled to air on TCN this season are as follows:

Playing with 19 teams for the 2015-16 campaign, the NBA D-League is in the midst of its 15th season. The 2015-16 NBA season tipped off with a record 30 percent of players boasting NBA D-League experience, including at least one NBA D-League alum on each NBA team’s roster.
