Home SchoolED

Monday morning at 9:30am, right here on DeTv, we will be premiering our 30-minute edition of a new program called “Home SchoolED” for DETV Kids. DETV Kids is our special brand of edutainment focusing on teaching fundamentals in a way thats both educational and entertaining. All Home SchoolED segments are produced here in Delaware by local talent and local educators for kids right here in our community and we’re bringing it to you absolutely free.

But that’s just the beginning. In January (or “early next year”) we’ll be offering DETV Kids five days a week in our first 13 week season. By Fall of 2021, we plan to expand DETV Kids Home SchoolED to four hours of programming covering every major subject and interest for all students….from Kindergarten to 12th grade.

Alanna Shaikh is a global health consultant and executive coach who specializes in individual, organizational and systemic resilience. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in public health from Boston University. She has lived in seven countries and it the author of What’s Killing Us: A Practical Guide to Understanding Our Biggest Global Health Problems. Recent article publications include an article on global health security in Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper and an essay in the Annual Review of Comparative and International Education. The VLLG jam is bi-weekly free expression music event based out of Philadelphia that deals with the theme of inclusion and extinguishing exclusion. Coining the phrase “the only concert where the audience is the headliner”the event really speaks for itself allowing anyone who is able to come out with their instrument of choice, vocals, spoken words, singing, raps and or dance moves, etc. These are just a few of the many creative disciplines that this Thursday night caters to leaving attendees blown away by the sense of connection and collaboration experienced throughout the night. Many would call it music/art therapy being a place where people express what is on their mind and not be judged by this huge crowd of 100 plus people per night. The VLLG Jam Has been going on since December 2016 in Philadelphia and has traveled to many other cities across the globe like D.C., Brooklyn, Houston, Austin, London and still reaching. The goal is to let every get this healing through connection and collaboration.
