Philadelphia Eagles Clinch The NFC East & The #1 Seed
It took Eagles fans longer than expected but the Philadelphia Eagles clinched the NFC East and the number one seed in the NFC.
“Jalen Hurts’ return to the lineup wasn’t dazzling but proved an overall success, as the Philadelphia Eagles clinched the top seed in the NFC playoffs with a 22-16 win over the New York Giants in Sunday’s regular-season finale.”
“With a 14-3 record, the Eagles set a new high for regular-season victories, passing their mark set in 2004 and reached again in 2017. Philadelphia made it to the Super Bowl in each of those campaigns.”
Hurts was 20-of-35 passing in a game that had a preseason feel — the Eagles were only 1 of 5 in the red zone — and played the entire game.
According to ESPN.com, “We didn’t feel like there was more risk [of further injury] but I know he was hurting, and he was hurting bad,” coach Nick Sirianni said. “But that’s the kind of competitor he is, that’s the kind of person he is, and kind of teammate and leader he is that he was able to go out there and tough through it.”
This “week” off for the Eagles will help the team a lot and get a lot of players healthy. The Eagles have been a little sloppy when Hurts wasn’t playing. But now with him back starting I think the Eagles have good chance to go all the way just like they did in 2017.
