The Phillies Steal Game 1 In Atlanta

The Philadelphia Phillies stole game one from the Atlanta Braves in game one thriller.
The Phillies won game one 7-6 and now have home field advantage in the series and could definitely put a nail in the coffin with a win today.

“Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos called the postseason a “fresh start” for him after helping his team to a 7-6 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday.”

“Castellanos, 30, had three hits and three RBI, plus a ninth-inning, diving catch in right field to help seal the win for the visiting team.”

“It’s kind of just a fresh start, a clean slate, so to speak,” Castellanos said after the game. “And obviously these games are really intense. For me, that helps me lock in and kind of slow things down. It’s just a lot of fun.”

On the mound today is Zack Wheeler who was dominate against the St Louis Cardinals in his last outing.

In a Yahoo Sport article by Corey Seidmen it said, “Wheeler has been electric since returning from a month-long stint on the injured list. After pitching on August 20, forearm tendinitis shelved him until September 21. Some surmised it could be a blessing in disguise, getting Wheeler some time off before the stretch run. He did, after all, lead the majors in innings and pitches thrown in 2021.”

“Wheeler and Nola were both excellent in their postseason debuts against the Cardinals over the weekend. While both are mild-mannered and looked like they’d done it a dozen times, Wheeler isn’t treating these starts like they’re the same as a turn on the bump in mid-July.”

“You’re on a big stage and these games really matter,” he said Tuesday prior to the Phillies’ Game 1 win at Truist Park.

Game 2 Is set for a 4:35 start time but thunderstorms are expected in the area fingers cross that doesn’t happen & Wheeler can get a full start.
