University Of Delaware’s Field Hockey Team Are A Quite Dynasty

There is a Dynasty that is happening at the University of Delaware that not many people are talking about.

No. 2 seed Delaware field hockey (9-11) won its fourth-straight Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Championship with a win over fourth seeded Drexel (12-8), 6-1, on Sunday at Rullo Stadium. With the win, the Blue Hens receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The victory Sunday marks the 10th total CAA Championship in program history and the ninth in the last 10 years. Plus a National Championship in 2016.

While going to the University of Delaware I went to more Field Hockey games than any other sport. The girls are incredible on that field and it has showed but included in that is the entire staff from top to bottom.

This year the team has struggled compared to their previous years, having a record of (9-11). But when it mattered most the team turned back the clock to years of the past and dominated. Which led them to winning their fourth-straight CAA Tournament.

Now the ladies are set to play Lehigh (13-7) in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, November 9 at 2 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. at Karen Shelton Stadium at the University of North Carolina.

The winner of Wednesday’s game plays top-seed North Carolina on Friday at noon.

So good luck to the team and hopefully bring another National Championship back to Newark.
