Delaware Implements Level 2 Driving Restrictions for Kent and New Castle Counties
Governor Matthew Meyer has issued a Level 2 Driving Restriction for New Castle County and Kent County, effective 10:00 a.m., to keep emergency responders and essential personnel safe during severe winter weather. The Level 1 Driving Warning remains in effect for Sussex County.
Under a Level 2 restriction, nonessential travel is prohibited. Only essential personnel—including emergency workers, health care providers, and operators of snow removal equipment—are permitted on Delaware roadways. Approved waiver holders through the Delaware Emergency Management Agency’s (DEMA) State of Emergency Driving Waiver Program are also exempt.
