Eagles Add Chauncey Gardner Johnson
Howie Roseman has done it once again and seems like to be proving a lot of people wrong.
The Eagles acquired defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson from the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.
The Eagles received Gardner-Johnson and the Saints’ 2025 seventh-round draft pick for a 2023 fifth-round draft pick and the latter of their two sixth-round draft picks in 2024.
Safety was regarded as the thinnest position on an otherwise sound Eagles roster. Gardner-Johnson has the range and position flexibility defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon looks for in defensive backs.
“Roseman started this offseason needing lots of help on the defensive line, the linebacking corps, and in that defensive backs group, plus he needed a really good, No. 1-receiver-level veteran leader for the wideout corps which was AJ Brown. Then Howie worked his magic and got Haason Reddick, Jordan Davis, Kyzir White, Nakobe Dean, James Bradberry and now Gardner-Johnson are his top defensive additions”
These moves are proving and showing why Howie is one of the NFL GM’s in the league.
