Deadline to Submit Nominations is April 2, 2026
WILMINGTON, Del. Governor Matt Meyer and the Office of Women’s Advancement & Advocacy announced the opening of the nomination process for the 2026 Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and the She’s On Her Way Awards. Delaware residents are encouraged to nominate outstanding women whose leadership, service, and achievements have made a meaningful impact across the First State.
Nomination forms are available online at de.gov/women. All submissions must be completed by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on April 2, 2026.
“Delaware’s history and future are shaped by extraordinary women who lead, serve, and lift up their communities every day,” said Governor Matt Meyer. “The Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame and the She’s On Her Way Awards give us the opportunity to recognize both the trailblazers whose legacies endure and the young leaders who are already making a difference. I encourage Delawareans across the state to nominate the women whose impact deserves to be celebrated.”
Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame
Established in 1981, the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame honors women whose lifetime achievements have left a lasting legacy in Delaware. The award recognizes excellence while fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of the contributions women have made throughout the state’s history.
To be eligible, nominees must have resided in Delaware for at least ten years, either currently or in the past, and demonstrate accomplishments with long term significance. Applications are reviewed by the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Committee, which selects inductees annually. The official induction ceremony will take place in fall 2026.
As part of the induction celebration, the Office of Women’s Advancement & Advocacy commissions a watercolor portrait of each Hall of Fame member. More than 170 portraits are currently on public display in the lobby of ChristianaCare’s Center for Heart and Vascular Health, located at 4755 Ogletown Stanton Road in Newark. The exhibit is free and open during regular business hours. OWAA also maintains an online collection featuring portraits and biographies of all inductees.
She’s On Her Way Awards
The She’s On Her Way Awards, organized by the Delaware Commission for Women, recognize and celebrate the achievements of emerging young women leaders who are already making a difference in their communities.
Eligible nominees must be between 18 and 30 years old by June 30, 2026, have been Delaware residents for at least three years, and demonstrate integrity, leadership, and a strong commitment to community service.
The Delaware Commission for Women reviews all nominations and selects the award recipients. Honorees are recognized during a celebratory luncheon held in June 2026. Nominations are encouraged from individuals representing the full diversity of Delaware, including a wide range of cultural backgrounds, abilities, professions, and lived experiences.
How to Submit a Nomination
Delaware residents can submit nominations for both awards by visiting de.gov/women. Community members, organizations, colleagues, friends, and family members are all encouraged to participate in recognizing the women who continue to shape Delaware’s present and future.
