
HBCU Week Awards Gala Is Coming Soon

If you don’t know already but one of the biggest events in Wilmington, Delaware is coming up this Friday night at the Hotel Dupont, The 3rd Annual HBCU Week 2022 Awards Gala is back again.
The HBCU Week Gala was born out of the success of the HBCU Week initiative. The purpose of this black-tie fundraiser is to raise funds for HBCU Week, assemble its supporters, and honor individuals who have demonstrated a significant commitment to this initiative.
For those who don’t know, HBCU Week was founded by Ashley Christopher founded HBCU Week in 2017, “a company whose mission is to encourage enrollment into HBCUs, provide scholarship dollars for matriculation and maintain a pipeline of employment from undergraduate school to corporate America. The purpose of HBCU Week is to gather high school aged students and expose them to the historical significance and proud legacies of HBCUs, with the goal of those students considering HBCUs for higher education opportunities.”
HBCU’S Week mission statemen says “The mission of HBCU Week is to encourage high-school aged youth to enroll into HBCU’s, provide scholarship dollars for matriculation and sustain a pipeline for employment from undergraduate school to corporate America.”
So, if you are going to HBCU Week dress to impress and I know are going to have a good time. If you aren’t going you need to make sure you get a ticket for next year’s event.
