NBA Finals Preview Who Will Win?

By: Tye Richmond

It’s down to two teams in the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics, and the Golden State Warriors! Everybody has been giving their predictions leading up to this matchup. “Warriors in 6”, “Celtics In 6”, “Warriors In 7”, and “Celtics In 7”.

Now it is time to give my prediction. As many of my close friends and family members know, my second favorite NBA team of all time is the Warriors. So, it’s an easy call, Warriors in six. Plus, my favorite player in the NBA is Klay Thompson so who else am I going to pick.

Most people are saying, “The Warriors have not gone up against a defense as formidable as Boston’s in the playoffs. It’s a shape-shifting, switch-happy group that has no clear point of vulnerability. Everyone an A+ defender. Everyone is versatile. There is no obvious weakness.”

But Boston ever gone up against an offense like that of the Warriors? An offense that has changed and revolutionized the NBA. Golden State has the No. 1 offense in this postseason for a reason. With Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green on the court they flow through actions at a speed that makes most opponents feel vertigo.

People talk about the Celtics’ defense, but the Warriors can play defense too. We have Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins. Those three can guard Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown and give them trouble because the Celtics offense runs through the two of them, but the Warriors ball movement play isn’t dependent on one person.

Not to mention the intangibles, the biggest being Championship DNA. You have a core of vets who have been to the Promised Land multiple times together; that experience and energy is infectious to the ones who haven’t.

All that being said, I’m sticking with the Golden State Warriors in 6 games. It will be a tough and good NBA payoff, and hopefully the Warriors are able to pull it off.
