Tunnel to Towers to Pay Off Mortgage for Fallen Delaware State Trooper’s Family
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced it will pay off the mortgage on the home of fallen Delaware State Trooper Corporal Matthew T. “Ty” Snook by New Year’s Day.
The announcement was made Monday morning by Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller.
Cpl. Snook was killed in the line of duty on December 23 while working an overtime shift at a Delaware DMV office. State Police say that despite being shot, he pushed a DMV employee out of harm’s way before being struck again.
He is survived by his wife and their one-year-old daughter.
Tunnel to Towers says the Snook family’s mortgage payoff will be the first of 343 mortgage-free homes the foundation plans to deliver in 2026, honoring the 25th anniversary of September 11 and the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives that day.
The foundation’s goal is to have the Snook family’s mortgage fully paid off by January 1.
