Schools Across Delaware Are On Lockdown

Schools throughout the first state were on lockdown this Thursday morning.

According to Delaware Online, Anonymous and unfounded threats of an active shooter are causing an increased police presence at some Delaware schools Thursday.

Newark Police said it increased security at schools in their city as they investigate the validity of the threat. They have also been in contact with the Christina School District.

Delaware State Police also tweeted they were investigating threats made to multiple schools.

“There have been no safety concerns identified at this time,” their tweet said. “DSP is actively working with the schools as they initiate protocols to ensure the safety of all students and staff.”

“According to Cape Henlopen School District, there’s been a series of calls with the same message throughout the state to other districts and they are being investigated by law enforcement.”

“Delaware State Police says they are currently investigating the threats, but they have no safety concerns at this time. They say they are working with all the schools as they initiate their protocols to make sure students and staff stay safe. A Milford school district representative said Milford police were on-site and determined the threats were non-credible as well.”
