Could James Harden Actually Come To Philadelphia In The Summer?
Written by: Tye Richmond
Ever since Darly Morey joined the Philadelphia 76ers there have been rumors of James Harden joining the Sixers. But there has been another huge wrinkle added to the “James Harden to Philly” saga.
Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report reported that there have been reports of Harden being “vocal to Nets figures and close contacts alike about his frustrations regarding Kyrie Irving’s part-time playing status. A recent injury to Kevin Durant has exacerbated the issue, leaving Harden to shoulder the majority of the offensive burden during Brooklyn home games. Nets coach Steve Nash’s fluid rotations have also disappointed Harden, sources told B/R. Nash has favored hot-hand closing lineups, rather than a fixed crunch-time unit.”
“Harden has recently informed several confidants—including former teammates and coaches—of his interest in exploring other opportunities outside of Brooklyn this summer, league sources told B/R.”
As a 76ers fan, I would love for James Harden to come to Philadelphia. But there is still one big hurdle in the way and his name is Ben Simmons. The 76ers could try a sign and trade deal with the two but the Nets would have to be willing participants especially with all the drama that the 76ers & Ben Simmons are going through now.
But for right now all we could do is just dream of James Harden and Joel Embiid playing together. But just imagine the pick & roll offense between the two. Harden will finally be someone on the 76ers that can’t get his own shot. Plus create for himself and others.
If the 76ers somehow get James Harden and are able to get rid of Ben Simmons they could be a scary team in the next two to three years.
