Happy World Techno Day 2022
Today is December 9th 2022 which means it is World Techno Day celebrates electronic dance music. The day also encourages learning more about techno and listening to this genre of music.
According to nationaldaycalender.com “Techno is a genre of music produced by electronic instruments, such as synthesizers, sequencers, or drum machines. This dance music is characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. The tempo usually ranges from 120 to 150 beats per minute. Techno music is usually produced for a continuous set played by a DJ. Dance clubs, and anywhere else that invites people to hit the dance floor, usually play techno music.”

The article continues to say, “Techno music is an offshoot of house music, which is considered more soulful. House music originated in Chicago in the 1970s. Techno music came about in the 1980s in Detroit. Young African Americans earn the credit for inventing techno. Juan Atkins is considered by many as the “father of techno.”
I’ve always listened to house/club music growing up and have been around it my whole life. The Baltimore Club Music, Jersey Club Music, & Philadelphia Club Music scene has been at the center of the music industry for the past 2 years.
Also, I’ve started to appreciate techno music more ever since DETV went to The Firefly Music Festival. The different DJ sets and people along the campgrounds playing techno music made me enjoy the music more. Plus, I’ve gotten a greater understanding and appreciation of techno music after the festival. So, if you haven’t listened to techno music you most defiantly should.
