NEW CASTLE COUNTY OFFERS SMALL BUSINESS GRANT PROGRAM
New Castle County is offering a grant program to small businesses along the Philadelphia Pike, route 13, and route 9 corridors. Designed to encourage economic activity in the area, the grant is partially funded by the federal American rescue plan.
A total of $440,000 is available, for an anticipated 40 to 50 grants.
Money can be used for facades, landscaping, signage, and equipment or recently incurred debt for business upgrades.
Businesses can apply for a 5000 grant or a 10,000 matching grant. The application process is open, said Vandell Hampton Jr., president and CEO of True Access Capital, a community development finance agency that is managing the program.
“This funding will go a long way toward revitalizing these long-standing commercial areas,” said Hampton.
