UD Confirms Student Visas Revoked Under Federal Crackdown

At least eight international students at the University of Delaware (UD) have had their visas revoked by the Trump administration, according to university officials. UD reports it was notified through a federal database but received no explanation for the terminations. The affected students are now required to leave the United States.

This development is part of a broader nationwide crackdown that has seen hundreds of student visas revoked in recent months. While these numbers represent a small portion of the estimated 1.5 million international students currently studying in the U.S., the impact is being felt locally in Newark, which is home to approximately 2,400 international students.

In response, the University of Delaware has stated it is providing both legal and emotional support to the affected students. Delaware State University has not yet disclosed whether any of its students were impacted by the federal action.
